CO2 Capture

CO2 CAPTURE FROM INDUSTRIAL AND POWER PLANT EMISSION

One of the main sources of air pollution are industrial power plant emissions. The exhaust fumes produced not only affect human health, but also cause ecological damage.

PSC is committed to provide its best experience and resources in this world challenge.

PSC has been already involved in several projects related to CO2 capture/ reduction.

The greenhouse gases as CO2 contributes to increase the temperature on Earth planet, affecting to climate change, in the form of extreme weather conditions such as:

- droughts

- heat waves

- heavy rainfall

- floods and landslides

With the resulted consequence of rising sea levels, ocean acidification and cataclysmic events as: damage to plants, loss of biodiversity, mudslides, avalanche, melting glaciers, depletion of the fresh water, desertification increasing.

The combustion of coal, gas and oil and solid waste, as well as natural combustion of trees and biological materials produce carbon dioxide (CO2) which enters the atmosphere.

The CO2 capture is naturally performed by chemical plants absorption, alterative to the nature photosynthesis process.

Annual emission of CO2 from fossil fuels and industry is about 36 billion of tons per year. The last decades saw an important increasing in the trend of emission starting from the ‘90s.

Almost all the industries produce form of pollution with different impact on environment.

In cement & lime industrial production, screened limestone is calcined at about 900 °C (1.650 °F) in different types of lime kilns to produce quicklime according to the reaction and carbon dioxide (CO2).

Emission of CO2, as an undesirable by product, is the main cause for greenhouse gases, which may contribute to global heating and climatic change.

Nowadays, World’s Health Organization and International Committees are engaged to create the regulatory set of rules to reduce CO2 emission and, at the same time, to maximize the capture of CO2 from the air and to trap it in different ways.
